Our philosophy and practice of family
co-mediation evolves from our combined half century of experience
in the fields of mental health and law. We believe that couples
and families who are seeking assistance with resolving conflict
are best served by an experienced team of two co-mediators
who can draw upon a complimentary set of skills and disciplines.
Although it may not be as lucrative for us to practice
as a team, we believe we can offer a qualitatively better service
in this modality.
It is not merely the unique delivery of our combined skills and experience that
differentiates us. We believe mediation is fundamentally about helping our clients
explore the range of potential agreements beyond those defined by pre-conceived
ideas and expectations.
In the area of divorce mediation, for example, the mediation process at Family
Co-Mediation
does not necessarily have to end up with a divorce! We firmly believe that
our
mediation
services are not about achieving any particular result other than what our clients
seek to achieve.
At Family Co-Mediation we believe that many clients have the potential
to
gain
the understanding and skills that can enable them to resolve future conflicts
on
their own. Our
partnering process offers our clients a learning experience, with the tools and
resources they will be able to use in the future.
Our goal, in the end, is to provide the best possible environment to enable our
clients to become their best selves in a very trying time. When we accomplish
this, our clients come to appreciate how much better tomorrow seems than yesterday. |
